As we reach chapter 49 in our study of Isaiah, we see a transition to a more significant problem, a problem beyond Israel and Judah, a problem involving people in general.  All people sin.  What about that sin?  Has it defeated God?  Perhaps the answer is found in the servant that is introduced in this passage.  Who is this servant and what is his task?
